current events would be funny if we weren't living it
There's this Adam Sandler movie Little Nicky that is one of my favorites. Definitely underrated, but that's besides the point. Every time I listen to the current events in the US it feels like the whole plot of the movie where Satan's sons go to NYC to possess political and religious figures and havoc ensues for their own little hell on earth. That is what our government feels like. It'd be funny if it wasn't happening in real life.
Nothing makes any rational sense anymore and it's difficult to believe these people willingly follow this man. His most successful promise for illegal immigration policies are so inhumane the Pope is commenting on it. When you revoke legal status to make people illegal and removing due process, it becomes blatantly obvious what is happening. Instead of hiring more staff who can get through applications or even just some type of reform so the process doesn't take so long they gut it and make it more difficult and inject 165 billion into DHS. Interesting to run on so many concepts for the American people and do the complete opposite of every promise and even worse mirror tactics used by Nazis.
It's hard not to be upset and even a little scared living in this society. There needs to be change but even free speech is under attack because of the smallest ego to exist and leadership roles given to people who are so unqualified it's almost comical the mental gymnastics they go through to not answer questions because of their allegiance to canks and not the constitution.
I think about movies like Hunger Games and how we can all root for their revolution and know the Capitol is wrong but there's people who don't see anything wrong with what's currently happening. I think about Nepal overthrowing their government. I think about the Philippines protesting against the failure of the government to prevent the floods causing losses and death of its people. There seems to be a shift happening or it's just some hopefulness reaching. These leaders and representatives do not seem to care or fear letting down their constituents enough. These are people who would expect Jesus to come here legally. How much more has to go against our own interests before we help ourselves? How much more do we lose from the majority taking from us before change happens?
